Sun Protection Factor (SPF)

Use a sunscreen with at least a 30+ SPF and adequate amounts thereof - it takes more than you think to get optimal protection! An SPF of 8 only blocks about 90% of UVB rays (longer rays that reach the dermis and can cause cancer) and this is not enough. An SPF of 30 blocks 97% of UVB and some UVA rays (age-inducing shorter rays).
